Talley Oil is seeking a highly organized, dependable, and experienced Accounting Manager to oversee daily accounting operations, certified payroll compliance, and customer billing functions. This position plays a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely invoicing, and supporting the overall financial health of the company. Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting and day-to-day accounting operations
- Oversight and maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Prepare and submit certified payroll reports in compliance with prevailing wage requirements
- Monitor collections and follow up on outstanding accounts
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledger accounts
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Maintain vendor files, W-9s, and prepare 1099s
- Support budgeting, expense tracking, and cash flow monitoring
- Work directly with management and CPA regarding financial reporting and tax preparation
- Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies in a timely manner
- Maintain strict confidentiality of company financial and employee information
Qualifications
- 5 years of accounting experience
- Strong certified payroll and billing/invoicing experience preferred
- Knowledge of prevailing wage and labor compliance requirements preferred
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Experience with accounting software
- Strong Microsoft Excel and computer skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- High level of professionalism and reliability
- Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in transportation, construction, or similar service industries preferred
- Knowledge of fuel tax reporting, certified payroll reporting, or multi-state accounting is a plus
