JOB DESCRIPTION Asphalt Milling Foreman
Scope of Work:
The Milling Foreman will be responsible for daily milling operations, reporting, payroll entry and material quantities. Must be able to transition seamlessly from one task to another.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ability to perform milling operations in accordance with DOT local and commercial specifications
- Ability to read plans and specifications (application rates, grades, slope, drainage, etc.)
- Proven track record of completing jobs under budget and on time
- Ability to manage all aspects of the operation
- Coordination between other crews, subs, and vendors
- Ability to coordinate and communicate with other Foreman and crews concerning people, traffic control devices and equipment in advance
- Ability to work well with other team members or inspectors while managing stressful situations in changing environments
- Daily submission of electronic timecards and shift production reports with accurate quantities and task coding as required by management
- Understand, enforce and abide by the safety policies
- Effectively manage crew members by setting clear expectations providing regular feedback and development through training
- Ensure daily maintenance and cleaning of equipment is occurring. Perform equipment write-ups when needed
- Ensure job quality is satisfactory at the end of each day
- Other duties as required
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license
- 3 years of paving/milling asphalt experience, preferred
- Knowledge of construction operations and specifications
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Must pass post offer drug screen
- Must provide proof of eligibility to legally work in the US.
