We need a diesel technician who isn’t intimidated by a Cummins on the lift, knows the difference between a real problem and a code that’s just being dramatic, and takes pride in getting the diagnosis right the first time.
At Tallassee CDJR, Zac and Buffalo run the service department like a team — not a bunch of guys competing over stalls. We’re adding a diesel tech who wants to be part of that, not just punch a clock.

Diesel Technician — Tallassee CDJR

You’ve probably heard about us by now. We’re Zac and Buffalo, and we run the service department at Tallassee CDJR like a team, not a bunch of guys competing for stalls. We’re looking for a diesel technician who knows their way around real problems — not just the easy stuff.
If you can hear a diesel engine and already have a theory before the hood’s even up, keep reading.

What you’ll be doing

• Running full diagnostics with schematics, electrical testing tools, and your own two hands to track down issues in diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, and suspension systems
• Repairing and maintaining heavy equipment — excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and other industrial machinery — so it keeps running when it matters
• Fabricating parts with welding and hand tools when something needs to be built, not just bolted on
• Handling everyday work too: tires, brakes, shocks and struts, alignments, and general power-tool repairs
• Chasing down complex issues in hydraulics, heavy truck HVAC, and electrical wiring until the problem’s actually solved, not just patched
• Keeping honest, detailed service records of what you repaired, what parts you used, and what you found — because we don’t guess, and we don’t want you to either
• Helping with heavy lifting the right way, with the right equipment, following safety protocols every time
• What we’re looking for
• Real experience as a diesel technician or mechanic — dealership or heavy equipment background is a plus
• Solid mechanical knowledge across diesel engines, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostics
• Hands-on time with heavy trucks, farm equipment, industrial machinery, or general automotive repair
• The ability to actually read a schematic and work through a technical manual instead of guessing
• Comfort with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and basic fabrication
• Familiarity with heavy equipment operation — excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and the like
• Customer service skills good enough to explain what’s wrong with someone’s truck without making them feel dumb
• The physical ability to lift, bend, and work in whatever conditions the job throws at you, plus a genuine respect for safety standards
