Tallahassee State College (TSC), recently recognized as one of the Most Promising Places to Work in Community Colleges for 2025, is excited to announce a full-time grant-funded opening for the position of Pre-Release Employment Navigator with Department of Corrections – Region 2 (Madison – Volusia Counties). What You’ll Do
As a Pre-Release Employment Navigator, you will report to the lead educator or Assistant Warden and play a key role in delivering services through cell-front and/or congregate settings. The services provided shall include:
- In-person and virtual facilitation of inmate training relative to employability and life skills;
- Interpretation of assessments;
- Maintaining and providing documentation of services delivered;
- Collaborating with facility staff (Assistant Warden / Classification Supervisor/Release Officer) to establish pre-release connections with community providers and employers; and
- Assisting the facility with hiring events, mock interviews, pre-release job search, recruitment, and readiness portfolio development.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a candidate who brings not only technical expertise but also a passion for education and student success. Our ideal candidate will have:
- An associate’s degree from an accredited college or university or a high school diploma, and Two (2) years of professional experience in the workforce development, social services or corrections field.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and data entry.
- Preference given to candidates with an associate’s degree and one year of experience in the social services or corrections field.
