Duties
- Take dogs on engaging walks tailored to their energy levels and needs, ensuring proper pet exercise and outdoor activity.
- Provide in-home pet sitting services, caring for pets while owners are away, including feeding, administering medication if needed, and maintaining routines (no overnights, timed visits)
- Handle animals safely using animal restraint techniques and proper handling skills to ensure both pet and handler safety.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners during visits, completing a report with photos on our company app.
- Manage animal behavior challenges through positive reinforcement training techniques when appropriate.
- Maintain detailed logs of pet activities, health observations, and special instructions to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications
- Prior experience with animal handling, or veterinary-related roles such as veterinary technician or assistant is highly desirable
- Knowledge of pet behavior management and animal restraint techniques
- Experience caring for cats, dogs, horses or other animals is a plus
- Strong outdoor work experience with the ability to handle diverse weather conditions comfortably
- Excellent client communication skills to build trust and rapport with pet owners
- Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately and maintain professionalism at all times
