Utility Laborer
Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Utility Laborer to assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of underground utility infrastructure. This position supports construction crews with tasks related to fiber optic, conduit, and utility installation projects. The ideal candidate will work safely, follow directions, and perform physically demanding work in outdoor environments.
Responsibilities
- Assist crews with underground utility and fiber optic installation
- Load and unload materials, tools, conduit, and equipment
- Hand dig, rake, shovel, and clean job sites as needed
- Support directional drill, plow, and restoration crews
- Install conduit, pull fiber, and place warning tape and markers
- Set up and maintain traffic control and safe work zones
- Operate hand tools, power tools, compactors, and small equipment
- Assist with road crossings, driveway crossings, and restoration work
- Maintain company vehicles, trailers, and equipment cleanliness
- Follow OSHA and company safety procedures at all times
- Communicate effectively with crew leaders and supervisors
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Construction or utility experience preferred but not required
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly
- Must be dependable and able to work flexible hours
- Valid driver’s license preferred
- CDL is a plus
- Ability to travel to job sites as needed
