CDL Class A Driver – Fiber Optic Construction
Position Summary
The CDL Class A Driver is responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles to transport heavy equipment, construction materials, and tools to and from fiber optic construction job sites. This position supports fiber construction crews by ensuring equipment and materials are delivered safely and on schedule.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers, lowboys, flatbeds, dump trucks, and other commercial vehicles.- Transport directional drills, excavators, skid steers, conduit, fiber optic cable, vaults, and construction equipment.
- Perform DOT pre-trip/post-trip inspections and maintain logs.
- Secure loads and comply with DOT regulations.
- Load/unload equipment and assist construction crews when not driving.
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance checks and report issues.- Follow OSHA, DOT, and company safety policies.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A license.
- Current DOT Medical Card.
- Clean driving record.
- Heavy equipment hauling experience preferred.
- Ability to lift 75 lbs and work outdoors in all weather.
Preferred
Fiber optic or utility construction experience, equipment operation, OSHA/Traffic Control certifications.
Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
