Summary of
Position:
The EFMP Respite
Care Specialist fulfills Child Care Aware® of America’s mission by assisting
with program administration required by military Services’ contracts to provide
respite care to eligible families having children with special needs who are
enrolled in the Services’ Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) and meet
eligibility requirements.
This position is
funded by military contracts. Accordingly, the position is contingent upon
receipt of the necessary funding under the contract.
- Confirms initial and ongoing eligibility of Service Members for
EFMP Respite Care and refers eligible members to partner agencies.
- Takes relevant data of EFMP Respite Care program information,
derived from local partner program submissions, updates spreadsheets and
databases to display data and provide input for reports.
- Downloads and updates respite care parent and provider applications
and connects families and providers in the on-line application system. Submits
records for quality control to ensure accuracy.
- Communicate and coordinate with parents and partner agencies to
ensure timely processing of required paperwork and ongoing eligibility for
participation in EFMP Respite Care.
- Integrates parents’ attendance data from partner agencies to
provide data displays and information for periodic reports. Ensure data
accuracy. Interfaces with partner agencies when attendance data contains
inaccuracies.
- Works with providers / families on payment related issues or
questions. Addresses payment issues with the point of contact (POC) in finance
and /or the payment department as needed.
- Keeps attendance sheet data up to date and ensures availability to
the Manager, EFMP Respite Care on a regular and recurring basis.
- Follows-up with reporting entities, e.g. participating partner
agencies, to ensure accurate attendance documents from the field are submitted
in a timely manner.
- Provides technical assistance/training to with partner agencies’ POC
on all aspects of the respite care applications, attendance procedures and
payment problems.
- Communicates with partner agencies’ POC about data discrepancies
and following proper procedures.
- Assists with other data as specified by the Manager, EFMP Respite
Care.
- Performs
other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Degree in early childhood development,
education, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in supporting
project management, tracking systems, record keeping is preferred.
- Attention to detail, ability to work
with deadlines is required.
- Excellent computer skills and
experience with the Microsoft Office suite of products, especially Excel, are
required.
- Advanced knowledge of databases and
experience working with large and complex data sets. Possesses data analysis
skills and knowledge of general statistical principles.
- Experience with various Excel
spreadsheets, and other data systems are highly desired. Experience analyzing
financial reports is also desired.

policies and procedures is highly desired.
- Knowledge of military and other fee
assistance programs.

Salary : $45,000 - $55,000
