Director, Client Accounting Services

We are supporting a client in the Consulting and Advisory space with a critical hire for their team. Currently, we are in search of an experienced Accounting Advisory Manager to join this growing team firm providing outsourced accounting leadership to a portfolio of clients across the DC metro region. As the Manager, of Accounting Advisory Services, he/she will focus on delivering accounting and financial guidance to companies in a variety of industries. The Manager will play a key role in helping clients navigate the standard accounting process, as well as supporting other ad hoc needs that may surface. This individual will lead a team of accounting on and offshore staff delivering the full suite of outsourced accounting services..
General Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage multiple external client relationship, providing strategic accounting guidance and finance support.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, helping them interpret financial results and advising on accounting best practices, technical standards, and process improvements.
- Oversee monthly financial close processes, financial statement preparation, and internal reporting packages.
- Manage implementation of financial systems, accounting policies, and internal controls tailored to clients’ growth stages.
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax professionals, and other service providers on behalf of clients.
- Supervise and mentor staff and senior consultants, promoting their development through coaching and performance feedback.
- Support business development efforts by participating in proposals, client pitches, and thought leadership initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA strongly preferred
- 5 years of relevant experience, with a mix of public accounting and industry/consulting preferred.
- Deep technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP and experience with financial reporting and accounting operations.
- Strong leadership and project management skills, with ability to prioritize and deliver results in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
- Experience working with high-growth or venture-backed companies is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a consultative mindset.
- Proficiency with commonly used accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Sage Intacct) and productivity tools (e.g., Excel, G Suite, PowerPoint).
Salary : $140,000 - $160,000
