Job Summary
- Our client is seeking a Project Manager / Senior Project Manager (MEP) to oversee commercial mechanical construction projects from pre-construction through project completion. This role is responsible for managing project schedules, budgets, subcontractors, staffing coordination, procurement, and overall project execution.
- Depending on experience level, this individual may also oversee project teams, mentor junior staff, support hiring decisions, and participate in operational planning and leadership activities.
Responsibilities
- Manage commercial MEP construction projects from pre-construction through closeout.
- Coordinate project schedules, procurement, subcontractors, staffing, and field operations.
- Review contracts, drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
- Monitor project budgets, costs, billings, forecasting, and financial performance.
- Coordinate with superintendents, field teams, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Attend project meetings and provide project performance updates.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor project progress, safety, and quality.
- Ensure projects remain on schedule, within budget, and aligned with company standards.
- Manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Support project buyout, estimating coordination, and procurement activities.
- Mentor junior staff and support team development efforts (Senior PM level).
- Participate in hiring, staffing, and leadership initiatives as needed (Senior PM level).
Qualifications
- 5–10 years of MEP, mechanical construction, or commercial construction project management experience
- Strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing, piping, and MEP systems
- Experience managing commercial construction projects and project financials
- Knowledge of construction scheduling, estimating, budgeting, and cost control
- Ability to read construction drawings, specifications, and contracts
- Strong understanding of construction codes, regulations, and safety standards
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency with construction/project management software such as MS Project, Acumatica, or similar systems
- A bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
