Role Description
This is a full-time in-office position for an Associate Attorney based in New York, NY. The Associate Attorney will be responsible for handling personal injury cases from intake through trial. This role requires an attorney who can effectively communicate with clients, conduct investigations and legal research, draft pleadings, conduct depositions, attend court appearances, draft motions, and negotiate settlements.
Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of personal injury matters, including auto accidents, slip and falls, premises liability, and other negligence claims
- Conduct client consultations and maintain ongoing communications
- Draft and file legal pleadings, motions, and discovery responses
- Engage in settlement negotiations with insurance companies and defense counsel
- Attend court hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials as needed
- Maintain case files and track deadlines to ensure compliance with all legal procedures
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Active bar license in New York and in good standing
- 3-5 years of personal injury experience (plaintiff or defense)
- Excellent research and writing skills
- Proven work ethic
- Compassionate and client-focused approach to legal advocacy
