We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Financial Planning Associate who enjoys being deeply involved in the financial planning process and playing a meaningful role in client relationships. This position will directly support our two lead advisors and serve as a key bridge between the advisors, clients, and outside professionals to ensure recommendations are implemented smoothly and nothing falls through the cracks. You will participate in client meetings, assist with meeting preparation, handle initial data entry and plan development, update and refresh financial plans and reports, and provide consistent, accurate, and timely research and analysis results. The ideal candidate is professional, polished, and comfortable working directly with clients and external partners, while maintaining the organization and follow-through needed to support a high-touch planning experience.
Responsibilities & Activities
- Directly support lead advisors in the preparation, development, and execution of comprehensive financial plans
- Gather, input, and analyze client data to develop tailored planning recommendations
- Perform scenario modeling, stress testing, and asset allocation analysis to support plan strategies
- Conduct research related to retirement, insurance, estate planning, and other planning topics
- Collaborate closely with advisors to ensure recommendations align with client goals and expectations
- Prepare, organize, and update client-facing presentation materials and planning reports
- Participate in client meetings and manage follow-up communication and action items
- Assist with the ongoing maintenance and updates of existing financial plans as client circumstances evolve
- Coordinate implementation details to ensure recommendations are carried out accurately and efficiently
- Act as liaison between clients, advisors, and third parties (including insurance partners, attorneys, and CPAs) to keep planning initiatives moving forward cohesively
- Maintain accurate client records and thorough planning documentation
- Manage workflows and deadlines to ensure timely and high-quality plan delivery
- Perform other duties as needed to support the planning team and overall client experience
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in finance, financial planning, or a related field
- 2 years wealth management experience required; experience directly supporting one or more financial advisors in a planning capacity preferred
- Series 65 preferred or ability to obtain the license within 6-9 months of hire
- Excellent organizational and time management skills and strong documentation habits
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation, listening, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong technology and CRM skills required, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Industry specific software experience required; eMoney, Holistiplan, Wealthbox, and Schwab preferred
- High level of professionalism and confidentiality, with a strong attention to detail
- Highly organized and adaptable, with the ability to multitask and shift between responsibilities throughout the day
- Ability to prioritize and solve problems while maintaining composure and focus
This is a full-time, W-2 position. Base compensation ranges from $65,000 to $80,000 plus bonus potential, depending on experience. Additional benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, life and disability insurance, paid time off, paid holidays, 401(k) with match, career growth, and a hybrid work schedule (Mondays & Fridays working remotely, Tuesday-Thursday in the office).
