Assembly Technician
We are seeking a detail-oriented and mechanically skilled Assembly Technician to join our Production team. This role is responsible for assembling, modifying, testing, and maintaining components that support our fleet of Automated Enforcement Systems.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment, demonstrates strong technical aptitude with both hand and power tools, and can accurately interpret engineering drawings and written instructions. Precision, quality, and adherence to safety standards are essential in this role.
This position reports to the Production Manager.
Responsibilities
- Assemble electronic and mechanical components in accordance with engineering specifications and quality standards
- Modify raw materials and subcomponents to meet production requirements
- Perform testing and troubleshooting using tools such as multimeters and other diagnostic equipment
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, diagrams, and assembly instructions accurately
- Follow strict assembly procedures and safety protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards
- Maintain accurate records of completed assemblies, test results, and identified defects or malfunctions
- Collaborate with lab technicians and production team members to maintain and service the fleet of Automated Enforcement Systems
- Support organization and inventory management of lab supplies, tools, and materials
- Identify and escalate potential quality or safety concerns
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in an assembly, production lab, manufacturing, or similar technical environment
- Strong working knowledge of hand tools (e.g., Allen wrenches, wire crimpers, wire strippers, taps)
- Proficiency with power tools (e.g., drivers, drills, Dremel tools, belt sanders)
- Experience using a multimeter
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Strong attention to detail with excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Commitment to workplace safety and ability to identify potential hazards
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a repetitive basis
- Ability to wear a respirator for extended periods, as required
- Successful completion of a mechanical aptitude test
Preferred Qualifications
- Soldering experience
- Technical or mechanical certification or coursework
