What are the responsibilities and job description for the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Procurement Solutions Consultant position at TalentFish?
TalentFish is looking for an experienced Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Procurement Solutions Consultant who combines strong functional knowledge with a solid technical understanding of D365 Finance & Supply Chain Management (F&SCM).
This is NOT a Project Manager or Program Manager position.
We need someone who understands how Finance operates and can serve as the trusted liaison between Finance leadership, IT, developers, and implementation partners.
You'll help own and improve D365 Finance solutions, troubleshoot complex issues, challenge technical recommendations when needed, and make sure the technology supports the business.
What we're looking for:
- 5 years of hands-on D365 Finance & Operations / F&SCM functional experience
- Deep understanding of General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and financial processes
- Experience with Procurement, Purchasing, Vendor Management, Inventory, or Supply Chain
- Ability to configure D365, investigate issues, identify root causes, and work directly with developers on solutions
- Experience translating Finance business requirements into functional specifications and system improvements
- Strong experience with UAT, integrations, production support, and post-implementation stabilization
- Confidence working directly with Finance leadership and business stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of problems through resolution
Highly preferred:
- Background in accounting or Finance before transitioning into IT
- Experience with HVAC, plumbing, mechanical contracting, construction, or project-based businesses
- Knowledge of job costing, project operations, inventory, warehousing, or field service
- Power Platform, Power BI, or Azure integration experience
Position Details:
Location: Chicago North Suburbs — Hybrid, with onsite work as needed
Duration: 6 months
Start: Immediate need — ideally within 1–2 weeks
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.
