Overview:
We are seeking a Laboratory Assistant to support a fast-paced lab environment. This role is highly administrative in nature, with a primary focus on taking detailed photos of products, packaging, and test items throughout the day. The ideal candidate is comfortable with basic technology, detail-oriented, and able to work efficiently in a high-throughput setting.
This position also supports laboratory operations including sample processing, testing support, and documentation of results. Candidates should be adaptable, hands-on, and comfortable assisting both technical and administrative functions within the lab.
What You Bring (Ideal Experience):
- Experience in administrative, lab, or detail-oriented environments
- Strong attention to detail, especially with photo documentation and data entry
- Basic proficiency with computers, smartphones, and Microsoft Excel (including macros)
- Ability to manage repetitive tasks in a fast-paced setting
- Comfortable lifting/moving up to ~15 lbs
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Exposure to laboratory environments, equipment, or processes is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field preferred
- Basic understanding of laboratory systems, instrumentation, or equipment preferred
What You'll Do:
- Take detailed photos of products, packaging, and test samples throughout the day
- Upload and manage photo documentation using Excel macros
- Support additional administrative tasks as needed
- Assist senior staff with processing lab samples and performing tests
- Set up and adapt basic testing equipment for lab procedures
- Perform tests using general laboratory equipment
- Record, analyze, and interpret test data and results
- Prepare charts, graphs, and reports to document findings
- Read and interpret test plans, datasheets, blueprints, schematics, and instructions
- Monitor test performance and evaluate sample operation
- Maintain and perform routine care of lab equipment and work areas
- Input and extract data using computer systems and lab software
- Communicate with internal teams and assist with customer sample evaluations when needed
- Follow defined procedures, safety protocols, and data security practices
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the lab
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Compensation Information
The expected salary range for this position is $14 - $17 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. This role also qualifies for comprehensive benefits such as health insurance and paid time off. TalentFish is committed to pay transparency and equal opportunity.
