Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical
Job Summary
Provides comprehensive nursing care to adult medical and surgical inpatients using the nursing process. Administers medications and treatments, monitors patient status, and coordinates care with the interdisciplinary team. Supervises and delegates to support staff and provides patient and family education throughout the hospital stay.

Education & Experience
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing: Required
- Medical Surgical or acute care nursing experience: Preferred
- Registered Nurse licensure in the state of practice: Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: Required
- Perform admission, shift and ongoing assessments for assigned medical and surgical patients.
- Administer medications, IV therapy and treatments in accordance with physician orders.
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative care, including wound care and drain management.
- Monitor for changes in patient condition and escalate to the provider promptly.
- Delegate appropriately to and supervise nursing assistants and support staff.
- Provide patient and family education and participate in discharge planning.
