We are hiring an experienced Med Surg RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Casper, Wyoming.
This opportunity is ideal for a strong Med Surg nurse who is comfortable managing multiple acute-care patients in a hospital environment and can work independently while collaborating closely with the interdisciplinary care team.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult Med Surg patients in an acute-care hospital setting.
- Perform comprehensive assessments and monitor patients for changes in condition.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments according to orders and facility protocols.
- Monitor vital signs, pain levels, laboratory results, and other relevant clinical indicators.
- Recognize and promptly escalate changes in patient condition.
- Provide wound care and other nursing interventions within scope of practice.
- Coordinate care with physicians, therapists, ancillary departments, and other healthcare professionals.
- Educate patients and families regarding medications, treatment plans, disease management, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Follow infection-control, patient-safety, and hospital policies.
- Prioritize care effectively in a fast-paced Med Surg environment.
- Active RN license eligible for the assignment.
- Recent Med Surg RN experience in an acute-care hospital.
- BLS certification required.
- ACLS certification required.
- Wyoming DFS clearance required.
- Must successfully pass the required EKG examination.
- Strong assessment, critical-thinking, and clinical judgment skills.
- Ability to manage multiple patients and competing priorities.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Must be comfortable working 12-hour night shifts.
- Previous travel nursing experience is preferred.
- Must be available for the full contract period.
