Education & Experience
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing: Required
- Labor and delivery or obstetric nursing experience: Required
Licenses & Certifications
- Registered Nurse licensure in the state of practice: Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification: Required
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor obstetric patients throughout labor, delivery and recovery.
- Perform continuous fetal monitoring and interpret fetal heart rate tracings.
- Administer medications, IV therapy and oxytocin per physician orders.
- Assist the provider during vaginal and operative deliveries and provide immediate newborn care.
- Recognize obstetric and neonatal emergencies and initiate intervention.
- Provide postpartum care, newborn assessment, feeding support and discharge education.
Salary : $75 - $78
