Minimum Requirements
- Active California Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential through NBRC
- Current BLS Certification
- Current ACLS Certification
- Minimum 3 years of respiratory therapy experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of respiratory care procedures and ventilator management
- Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field
- Master's Degree preferred
- NRP Certification
- PALS Certification
- PEARS Certification
- Experience in an acute care hospital setting
- Assess patients and administer respiratory treatments, including oxygen and aerosol therapy.
- Manage mechanically ventilated patients and monitor respiratory status.
- Perform arterial blood gas sampling and pulmonary function testing.
- Maintain accurate patient documentation and treatment records.
- Assist physicians with bronchoscopies and other respiratory procedures.
- Inspect, maintain, and prepare respiratory therapy equipment.
- Educate patients and families regarding respiratory conditions and treatment plans.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Support quality improvement initiatives and assist with staff training as needed.
