The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating patients. This position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, a commitment to patient safety, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures, explain examinations, and ensure patient comfort and cooperation.
- Position patients accurately to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
- Operate and maintain radiographic equipment according to hospital policies and safety standards.
- Apply radiation safety principles and ALARA practices to minimize radiation exposure to patients, staff, and visitors.
- Verify patient identity and examination orders before performing procedures.
- Review images for quality and completeness before submitting them for interpretation.
- Maintain accurate patient records and document procedures in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support patient care.
- Follow infection prevention, patient privacy, and hospital safety protocols.
- Assist with urgent and emergency imaging needs as required.
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Current ARRT certification in Radiography, as required by the facility.
- Active state licensure or certification, if applicable.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Previous hospital or acute-care imaging experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of radiographic positioning, imaging techniques, and radiation safety.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and patient-care skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical setting.
