Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Medical Technologist (MT)—not MLT—for an ASAP-start contract in Lufkin, TX. This role is perfect for a seasoned generalist who is confident working across multiple laboratory disciplines and thrives in a fast-paced hospital environment.

You’ll be a key part of the lab team performing accurate and timely testing that directly impacts patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex lab testing as a Generalist
• Handle Blood Bank, Microbiology, Hematology, Chemistry, and Urinalysis
• Analyze, verify, and report results according to established protocols
• Maintain quality control procedures and instrument maintenance
• Communicate critical results and collaborate with clinical teams
• Float to other lab areas as needed
• Provide shift coverage if requested (no assigned call)
  
  

Requirements

• MT/MLS ASCP Certification required
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Must have Blood Bank experience
• Generalist experience across multiple disciplines (including Microbiology)
• Minimum 1 year of clinical lab experience
• Ability to work independently and adapt to changing workload
• No block scheduling allowed
