Job Requirements
Education and Work Experience:
- High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
- Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience: Preferred
- Charge entry billing experience in a healthcare setting: Preferred
- Refer to the Required Licenses and Certifications list for additional job and/or unit-specific requirements.
- Refer to Job Analysis #05A for additional ability requirements.
- Collaborates with departments to code billable items for reimbursement.
- Works with appropriate staff to obtain required information for billable items.
- Balances charge summaries to encounter forms before updating charges.
- Keeps the supervisor informed of issues related to charge entry activities.
- Reviews reports and software edits to identify required revisions and coordinates with appropriate departments.
- Coordinates projects and audits to improve revenue cycle processes, charging and billing efficiency, and collection efforts.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
