Our client, an established construction company in White Plains, NY is seeking a Controller to join their team.  The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing financial activities of the business, including the preparation of monthly financials, WIP schedule and company analytics. Responsibilities

Perform all required accounting functions of the company in a timely and accurate manner, provide reports and schedules to the company's CPA Firm in the preparation of all financial statements, as well as accurate job summary reports to the field teams.

• Complete and thorough knowledge of all accounting functions and procedures
• Thorough knowledge of SAGE & QuickBooks. Proficient with other computer software systems for the preparation of reports, spreadsheets and other accounting analysis that may be required by management
• Accurately and timely prepare weekly field and office payrolls, making proper federal, state and 401K deposits into respective accounts
• Accumulate job data from weekly payroll reports, materials and subcontract billings in order to prepare cost report for each project
• Maintain all company operating, payroll, savings and investment banking accounts including deposits, disbursements and balancing
• Monitor daily cash balances in operating, savings and investment bank accounts to cover obligations and maximize interest earnings
• Prepare monthly cash projection reports
• Prepare monthly balance reports
• Monthly closing of internal financials, including analysis of bank account, A/R, A/P and accruals, preparation of WIP schedule, reconciliations, etc.
• Process and issue all accounts payable and subcontractors payments
• Generate monthly recaps for Workers Compensation and General Liability insurance premiums
• Maintain Company PEO, employees Personnel files including all tax forms, Insurance Records, 401K records, Flex Spending, Employment and Drug Test Records
• Assist and review with management employees Health Insurance, 401K and Flex Spending Account questions
• Perform fiscal year end accounting close outs with CPA
• Process employee year end W-2's and 1099 Forms distributing to employee/payee and appropriate Federal and State Agencies, working closely with Paychex
• All company audits, including but not limited to Sales Tax, Payroll Tax, and all insurance.
• Responsible for preparing budgets /forecasts and reviewing budget to actual performances;
• Prepare and file state/ local sales tax reports quarterly, as necessary;
• Represent the company externally to funding agencies, banks, insurance brokers and unions;
• Prepare & review payment requests to Owners
• Oversee all a/p & a/r & credit card processing for entry & payment appropriately.
• Maintain vehicle equipment insurance, registrations & NYS Licensing reporting.
• Oversee subcontractor insurance renewals

The compensation for this position ranges from $120,000.00 - $140,000.00. Actual compensation will be dependent upon the specific role, office location as well as the individual’s qualifications, experience, skills and certifications.
