Our client, a mission-driven senior services organization in Mount Vernon, NY, is seeking an experienced and motivated Accounting Manager to oversee daily accounting operations and lead a dedicated finance team. Responsibilities

Lead all aspects of month- and year-end close, including GL, AP/AR, cash receipts, and payroll

Maintain and reconcile books and ledgers for the organization and its affiliates

Deliver accurate financial statements, management reports, and PBJ submissions

Drive the annual budgeting and forecasting process; monitor performance, highlight variances, and recommend cost-containment or revenue-enhancement initiatives

Prepare for and manage annual audits; ensure compliance with GAAP, GAAS, and evolving accounting regulations

Establish and strengthen internal controls; oversee compliance filings

Supervise, mentor, and develop a finance staff of six—setting goals, coaching, and evaluating performance

Partner with HR to ensure payroll processes align with policies and collective bargaining agreements

Participate in cross-functional meetings and committees to provide financial expertise and insight
Qualifications

MBA in Accounting, Finance, or Business (required)

5 years of progressive accounting experience in nonprofit healthcare; skilled nursing facility experience preferred

Prior team management/supervision required

CPA preferred (but not required)
Additional Qualifications

Advanced Excel and strong Microsoft Office/database reporting expertise

Experience with ADP Workforce Now, ADP Reporting, Kronos, NetSmart, Beacon/Yardi, and Matrix

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate financial insights clearly

Exceptional organizational, time-management, and leadership abilities

High integrity, discretion, and attention to detail
The compensation for this position ranges from $135,000.00 - $150,000.00. Actual compensation will be dependent upon the specific role, office location as well as the individual’s qualifications, experience, skills and certifications.
