About the Role: In this role, you will be responsible for the operation, inspection, and maintenance of hydraulic fracturing and related pressure control equipment on active well sites. You will support day-to-day frac operations, ensuring equipment reliability, proper testing, and adherence to operating procedures. Your work will directly affect job quality, uptime, and safe execution of completions programs.
Key Responsibilities: Operate hydraulic fracturing equipment and associated systems in accordance with company procedures and job programs. Perform routine and corrective mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance on pumps, iron, valves, manifolds, and related frac equipment. Conduct valve maintenance, including disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly to ensure proper function and integrity.
Carry out hydraulic testing and pressure testing of equipment and lines, documenting results and confirming compliance with specifications. Complete pre- and post-job equipment inspections, identifying wear, damage, or potential failure points and escalating issues as required. Assist with rig-up and rig-down of frac spreads, pressure control equipment, and related surface equipment on location.
Monitor equipment performance during operations, making adjustments to maintain safe operating parameters and optimal performance. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and test results to support equipment tracking and regulatory compliance. Key Requirements: Hands-on experience operating hydraulic fracturing (frac) equipment in an oilfield or completions environment.
Strong mechanical aptitude with proven ability to troubleshoot and repair pumps, valves, and high-pressure equipment. Demonstrated experience in valve maintenance, hydraulic testing, and equipment inspection in field conditions. Familiarity with pressure control practices and safe handling of high-pressure systems.
Ability to read and follow job procedures, equipment manuals, and safety guidelines. Comfortable working outdoors in demanding conditions, on rotating shifts and extended hours as required by operations. Strong safety awareness and adherence to company and regulatory HSE standards.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to and work on remote well sites. Desirable Skills: Experience in hydraulic fracturing (frac) operations beyond basic equipment operation, such as pump operation or data van support. Exposure to flowback operations and well testing on completions or production locations.
Background in pressure control services, including frac stacks, BOPs, and related wellhead equipment. Experience in wellhead services, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of wellhead components. Field experience in completions services such as wireline, coiled tubing, or cementing.
Previous work with coiled tubing units, cementing pumps, or wireline trucks in a service company environment. Knowledge of basic instrumentation and monitoring systems used in frac and pressure control operations. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required.
Technical or vocational training in mechanical, industrial, or petroleum-related disciplines preferred. Industry certifications in pressure control, well control, or HSE (e.g., Safeland, H2S) considered an advantage. OEM or service company training on hydraulic fracturing equipment, pumps, or pressure control systems preferred
