Unit Overview

• Beds: 4 LDRs

• Patient Ratios: 1:1 for Pitocin; 2:1 as applicable

• Unit Support: No unit secretary or tech

• Documentation: Meditech / CPN

• Equipment: Not otherwise specified

Scheduling

• Every other weekend

• No floating

Candidate Requirements

Must Have

• 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience

• Labor & Delivery and recovery experience

• Immediate newborn care / Golden Hour baby care experience

• C-section PACU/recovery experience

• Ability to circulate C-sections

• BLS
• ACLS
• NRP

• AWHONN experience/knowledge

• Active Texas RN License only

  • Temporary licenses will not be accepted

Preferred

• Ability to scrub C-sections

• Meditech experience

• C-section recovery/PACU

• Labor and delivery

• Immediate newborn care and Golden Hour care

Patient Experience

• AIDET

• Bedside shift report

Ideal Candidate

• Experienced Labor & Delivery RN

• Strong C-section circulating and recovery skills

• Comfortable providing immediate newborn care

• Adaptable and able to work independently in a small L&D unit
