Job Summary
The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) plays a crucial role in ensuring high-quality patient-centered care and coordinating functions in the Labor and Delivery unit during designated shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assists with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality patient care.
- Participates in ongoing assessments of quality patient care services provided in the unit, collaborating with other management team members.
- Collaborates with subject matter experts and managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
- Supports a patient-first philosophy and engages in service recovery when necessary.
- Operationalizes current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives, to improve engagement.
- Provides recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, training, and developing new staff.
- Recommends and implements courses of action, including training, conflict resolution, personnel policy compliance, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions, to ensure a competitive organization.
- Assists with staff scheduling and manages labor aspects to meet patient care needs and productivity guidelines.
Requirements:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within 1 year of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment start date.
- Registered Nurse licensure.
- Associate Degree in Nursing.
- 2 years of experience as a Labor and Delivery RN required.
- Previous leadership experience in Woman's, L&D, NICU, or Mother-Baby Units is mandatory.
- The CNC will serve as Charge and Assistant Nurse Manager, requiring comfort and willingness to address staffing needs, deliver babies, and scrub in the OR as necessary.
