Environmental WorkerLocation: Newark, DEDuration: 13 Weeks ContractShift: 7:00 AM StartSchedule: Weekend coverage required (on-call as needed)Dress Code: ScrubsJob DescriptionChristiana Care is seeking a dedicated Environmental Worker to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This role is essential in supporting infection control standards and ensuring hospital areas meet cleanliness and safety requirements.Primary FunctionMaintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout patient care, office, and ancillary areas of the hospital in accordance with Christiana Care policies and infection control guidelines.Key ResponsibilitiesClean and sanitize patient rooms, offices, common areas, and ancillary hospital spaces.Maintain carts and equipment in a clean, orderly, and safe condition; carts must not be left unattended.Remove all empty boxes, bulk trash, and debris from assigned areas and transport to compactor.Maintain cleanliness and organization of Environmental Services closets.Replenish paper, soap, and related supplies throughout the hospital.Clean and disinfect isolation and precaution rooms following infection control protocols.Collect trash and soiled linens and transport them to designated utility areas.Remove needle boxes, glove boxes, and soiled equipment from patient rooms.Respond promptly to Environmental Services calls and text messages when assigned.Power on and log into assigned mobile devices and applications at the start of each shift.Report maintenance issues, damages, unsafe conditions, or safety hazards to the supervisor promptly.Attend required in-service training and departmental meetings.Maintain a courteous, service-oriented, and professional attitude at all times.Follow departmental safety rules and practices to ensure a safe working environment.Perform additional duties as assigned.Education & Experience RequirementsHigh School Diploma or GED preferred.Two (2) years of customer service experience preferred.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesKnowledge of Environmental Services policies and procedures.Ability to read, write, and communicate at a high school level.Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.Ability to maintain confidentiality, particularly regarding patient information.Ability to maintain personal hygiene and professional appearance.Ability to work on feet for the duration of the shift.Ability to use PDA/Smartphone devices for job assignments and communication.Ability to access and utilize email for organizational communication as needed.Physical DemandsProlonged standing, walking, bending, and lifting required throughout the shift.Working ConditionsPotential exposure to infectious diseases; strict adherence to safety and infection control procedures required.Safety glasses must be worn at all times. #TB_HC #ZRCompany DescriptionFounded in 2002 by three former Monster.com executives; TalentBurst is an award-winning full-service Staffing Firm working directly with Fortune 500 companies in the US and Canada.
