Job Title: Assembly Technician
Location: Keene, WA - 100% onsite
Duration: 12 Months
Weekend Night Shift: 4pm - 5am (Fri - Sun)
Interview process: Phone screen, then onsite. Candidates should not live more than 45 mins away from the Keene plant.
Job Description:
Requirements: 6 months to one year assembly experience with small parts. Must be comfortable working in a clean room environment and working with hand tools. Experience with the use of indicators for precise alignment of components is preferred.
The purpose of this position: Assemble and test optical systems and sub-assemblies to precise specifications – prototype work with some supervision (production jobs requiring more in-depth skills). Jobs are performed in an Assembly Department or Clean Room. Accuracy of the assembly is extremely critical, failure to follow proper technique may not be immediately apparent.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Preparation of components; assembly of components into housings without supervision
Preparation of hardware (including but not limited to painting, alodine, priming, cleaning of non-optical surfaces)
Assembly of components per routers, drawings, and written procedures
Alignment of systems to meet specifications
Alignment of assemblies and in-process testing (basic interferometry and open optical testing)
Processing and final testing documentation per requirement with some supervision
Preparation of assemblies for shipment to customer with review from supervisor or Tech III
Requirements:
Must be capable of solving routine production problems as they arise
Problem solving independently on routine production with awareness of when assistance is needed
Must be capable of setting up basic optical testing and performing tests without supervision
Good organizational skills and ability to be flexible with changing work demands
Ability to gather data for submission to QA
Attention to detail and quality paramount
Flexibility to work to deadlines
Working Conditions:
Class 10000 cleanroom in most cases
Class 1000 cleanroom in special cases
Lifting of materials ranging from light to medium weight from possibly floor level to approximately 2 feet above bench height
Occasional heavy lifting with assistance
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or GED
Experience working with small components and hardware
Experience with the use of indicators for precise alignment of components preferred
