Job Title: IT PMO Project Manager

Location: Remote - Corning NY area or Charlotte NC area preferrable. Remote Eastern or Central Time Zone Candidates considered.

Candidates must be willing to work EST schedule.

Duration: 12+ Months

• Note**: Candidate must be able to travel 1 week per month to Corning NY to participate in project team workshops for the duration of the project.
  
  

Interview Process: Two Rounds Expected. Third Round (video) may be required.

First round video screening with direct manager. Second round video panel interview with hiring team.

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced, results-driven IT PMO Project Manager to lead critical projects within our organization. The ideal candidate will take ownership of driving issues, resolving challenges, and delivering project results that align with Client quality and compliance standards. The role requires a proven leader who can manage complex projects, communicate effectively, engage stakeholders, and ensure project objectives are met with precision and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

As an IT PMO Project Manager, you will:

• Project Ownership:
• Drive project execution, ensuring timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met.
• Take ownership of resolving project issues and proactively escalate to ensure timely resolutions.
• Provide leadership and accountability for project outcomes.
• Project Leadership Functions:
• Develop comprehensive project plans, detailing milestones, resources, and timelines.
• Maintain and manage RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) logs to track and address obstacles.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project alignment with business goals.
• Facilitate effective communication with stakeholders, including regular status updates and reports.
• Stakeholder Engagement:
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders to understand their needs and priorities.
• Act as the primary point of contact for project communications and manage stakeholder expectations.
• Engage leadership and key decision-makers as needed to ensure project success.
• Compliance and Quality Standards:
• Ensure adherence to Client quality and compliance standards throughout the project lifecycle.
• Monitor project deliverables to confirm they meet regulatory and company-specific requirements.
• Issue Management and Escalation:
• Identify project risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies.
• Escalate issues to appropriate levels of management, when necessary, while keeping stakeholders informed of progress.
  
  

Qualifications

• Experience:
• o 7+ years of project management experience, preferably within IT or PMO environments.** Please see requested domain knowledge below.
• Demonstrated ability to take ownership of complex projects, solve problems, and deliver results.
• Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree minimum required, plus PMP certification (requirements listed below)
• Certifications: ** o PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is required. - Certification & Active Dates MUST be listed on resume for consideration**
• Agile or Scrum training and certification are strongly desired.
• Skills:
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong ability to manage project plans, RAID logs, and cross-functional team collaboration.
• Proven problem-solving abilities and capacity to escalate and resolve issues effectively.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining quality and compliance standards.
  
  

Preferred DOMAIN Qualifications

** We are especially interested in candidates who bring the following expertise to the role: **

• Financial Application Expertise:
• Experience delivering Financial Application solutions, including deep familiarity with financial systems and tools. (Key examples include SAP & PeopleSoft)
• Extensive experience working with stakeholders in the Finance community to gather and manage requirements effectively.
• SOX Compliance:
• Ability to draft and manage requirements for SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) compliance.
• Experience ensuring that financial systems and processes align with SOX documentation and audit standards.
• Testing and Defect Management:
• Ability to manage and oversee test cycles for financial applications, ensuring quality and compliance.
• Produce daily testing updates and provide detailed analysis on defects, including root cause, aging, and priority.
• Cutover Planning and Execution:
• Experience performing after-hours cutovers for financial applications to minimize business downtime.
• Ability to coordinate with stakeholders and ensure smooth transitions during cutovers with minimal disruption to business operations.
• Agile Methodologies:
• Proven experience working in Agile project environments and familiarity with Agile or Scrum frameworks is highly desired.
