The Transmission Analyst (Cost Analyst) supports the Power Delivery Transmission Project Management organization by managing project budgets and forecasts, tracking actuals, and delivering clear cost reporting and variance analysis. This role partners with project managers, schedule coordinators, and leaders to ensure accurate project financials from initiation through closeout.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide cost analysis and financial support for Transmission capital projects.
- Maintain project budgets/forecasts; track actuals and explain variances.
- Produce monthly/quarterly reporting and ad hoc analysis.
- Partner with Project Managers to identify cost risks/opportunities and support decisions.
- Resolve cost discrepancies/misallocations and maintain data integrity in financial systems.
- Support budget cycle and multi-year projections.
- Support audit requests and maintain documentation.
- Improve tools and standard processes to reduce rework and strengthen governance.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2 years in cost analysis/project controls or budgeting/forecasting.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks under the pressure of deadlines and shifting priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills across all levels of the organization.
- Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, data validation, and basic data analysis).
- Experience supporting utility/energy or other capital projects.
- Power BI (or similar) experience for dashboards/automated reporting.
