We are seeking a focused, motivated Engineer or Architect, with a minimum of 16 years of relevant experience, to join the firm's Protective Design Group. This individual will work as part of a design team to integrate protective design criteria and security components into our projects to meet our clients' specific goals. Includes a wide range of protective design solutions (AT/FP, perimeter security, vehicle entry control points, blast/ballistic resistance, electronic security systems, etc.) in support of a varied client base.

The expected annual compensation range for this position is $100,000.00 - $180,000.00. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.

We are seeking a focused, motivated Engineer or Architect, with a minimum of 16 years of relevant experience, to join the firm's Protective Design Group. This individual will work as part of a design team to integrate protective design criteria and security components into our projects to meet our clients' specific goals. Includes a wide range of protective design solutions (AT/FP, perimeter security, vehicle entry control points, blast/ballistic resistance, electronic security systems, etc.) in support of a varied client base.
Responsibilities
- Review security/protective design criteria, codes and standards.
- Develop security/protective design strategies in planning studies and design projects.
- Interface with client security personnel to review and refine design strategies.
- Coordinate between in-house design disciplines as part of a design team.
- Create construction documents (drawings and specifications) that comply with project criteria.
- Provide oversight and quality control of protective design reports and construction documents.
- Review SOWs and develop in-house proposals for protective design efforts.
- Lead in-house continuing education seminars on protective design.
- Develop and present executive-level protective design briefings.
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or BS/BArch in Architecture
- Licensed Professional Engineer or Architect
- 16 years of relevant experience with security criteria (Department of Defense, Inter-agency Security Committee, etc.)
- 16 years of relevant experience with concept studies, design documents, and construction phase services
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
- U.S. Citizenship
- Ability to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance
- Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with drafting and modeling software (Revit and AutoCAD)
- ASIS Protective Design Professional (PSP) certification
