Position Overview
Our agency client is looking for a PR Account Director to assist their team onsite in their LA or Chicago office to lead integrated communications for CPG clients within a fast-paced agency environment. This role is responsible for setting strategy, directing cross-channel campaigns (paid/earned/owned), managing client relationships, mentoring and managing account teams, and delivering measurable business outcomes. The ideal candidate combines strong agency and CPG experience with proven employee management skills and the ability to execute media relations, crisis communications, and content-driven programs.
This will be hybrid, 40 hours per week starting in May through mid-October. You will be onsite Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining positive client and employee relationships
- Ensuring teams meet goals and exceed expectations
- Providing high-level strategy and input for both clients and campaigns
- Assisting in the training and hiring of management and employees
- Leading departmental employee reviews
- Participating in management meetings regarding account overview and company direction
- Providing direction to all employees on everything from media relations to inner-office workings
- Sensitively dealing with confidential company information
- Traveling to meet with new and existing clients as needed
- Attending trade shows and events on behalf of clients and Agency
- Assisting with the creation of Agency internal documents, marketing materials, etc.
- Creating and finalizing proposals for potential and existing clients
- Researching, understanding and anticipating client needs, providing value-added service and building strong relationships
- Bringing strong ideas that will contribute to staff development and company development/growth
- BA in Mass Communications, Public Relations or related field
- 8 years of PR experience (Agency and lifestyle/food & beverage/CPG experience required)
- Knowledge and/or experience with Digital capabilities - social media, influencers, paid ads, etc.
- Ability to act as the utmost senior contact on accounts
- Strong employee management experience
- Good business sense and background
- Strong writing, research and organizational skills
- Self-starter, able to work independently as well as in groups
- Strong ability to prioritize, solve problems and be resourceful
- Able to handle a fast-paced PR environment
- Able to work under pressure
- Takes direction well
- Able to handle any/all confidential information, issues, and matters in a sensitive manner
