Position Summary
Abacus Solutions Group is seeking a Tier 2 Field Service Engineer Journeyman to provide on-site IT support in a federal environment. This role supports end users with hands-on troubleshooting of computers, peripherals, and network connectivity. This is a customer-facing position requiring strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in an office setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 2 technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, and peripheral devices
- Install, troubleshoot, service, and repair personal computers and related software
- Support basic network connectivity and hardware issues
- Connect devices to existing data networks
- Maintain trouble logs and documentation in ticketing systems
- Provide in-person and remote support to end users
- Perform minor hardware and software repairs
- Assist users with proper use of hardware and software
- Document daily support activities and resolutions
- Collaborate with staff and management regarding system needs and improvements
- 1 to 2 years of hands-on IT support experience in a desktop or field service environment
- Strong troubleshooting skills in Windows environments
- Experience supporting hardware, software, and peripheral equipment
- Ability to communicate clearly with non-technical users
- Ability to work independently in an on-site setting
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate degree or higher preferred
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A or Network are a plus
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must be able to pass a Federal Background Investigation, obtaining and maintaining Public Trust suitability.
