Criminal Justice Specialist/Invest III (NS)
The Intelligence Analyst III position is set within the North Carolina Information Sharing and Analysis Center (ISAAC) of the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) and will be assigned as the strategic intelligence analyst in the fusion center. This is an advanced-level position and is expected to independently develop and create analytic products, apply analytic tradecraft and methods, and engage in the intelligence cycle in direct support of strategic projects and initiatives of the ISAAC and SBI. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide independent direct tactical and operational intelligence support to SBI agents, the ISAAC, and other federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial law enforcement partners by making analytical inferences and deductions from a vast array of intelligence sources.
- Creates professional products and defensible analytic assessments to support the criminal investigations of their district, as well as to address any new or emerging threats or crime trends within their area of responsibility.
- Serve as a lead liaison from the ISAAC and SBI to partner agencies (internal & external) and analyst peers.
- Present on the ISAAC and SBI initiatives, as well as current topics or intelligence relevant to partner agencies and command staff.
- Integrate multi-source intelligence in criminal investigations and threat mitigation.
Position/Physical requirements:
- Obtaining Division of Criminal Information (DCI) Network certification within 6 months of hire is required for this position.
- This position is required to perform on-call duties on a rotating basis.
Salary Range: $52,592 - $63,000
The Minimum Education and Experience (E&E) is REQUIRED to qualify for this position. Management also prefers:

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with Benefits. Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM with on-call duties on a rotating basis
Selected candidates will undergo and must successfully complete a comprehensive background investigation which includes: pre-employment polygraph examination; credit and arrest checks; interviews with associates, personal and business references; verification interviews of employers; verification of education achievement; medical examination; urinalysis drug screening; submission of fingerprints.
