The Controls Process Engineer will work closely with the Manufacturing Project team to achieve systems goals necessary for the delivery of SLATE's brownfield production facilities. The successful candidate will ensure that all equipment and processes are delivered in accordance with specification and best practice automotive solutions. On launch of the new facility the position holder will be responsible for addressing and rectifying any matters that require attention prior to the final production, assuring minimum machinery downtime and high equipment efficiency. Future continues improvement projects will be essential to sustain the World Class excellence as well as compliance to safety and environmental legislation.

| WHAT YOU GET TO DO
- Document generation; Electrical and Controls Specification, Technical acceptance documents
- Identify system requirements; SCADA, ANDON, torque tools, AGV, robot interfaces, general safety
- Liaise with line builders during initial scope of supply as well as design stage, assuring specifications are adhered too, and standardization approach is maintained across the plant
- Ensure that the department always supports manufacturing operations in terms of equipment reliability, facility controls, application software, data recording and backup processes
- Support implementation and integration with MES and other third-party equipment or software
- Provide support and knowledge share to Maintenance and Operational teams
- Maintain company's standards, IP, Quality and H&S
- Provide support and knowledge sharing of PTED and Sealer systems to hone the skills of the supporting teams in Coatings and Bonding.
- Work with Contractors and Integrators to bring in projects on time and budget with vertical integration.
- Bachelor's Degree in Automation and Control or similar discipline such as Electrical Electronic, IT is required
- Minimum of 8 years of manufacturing experience gained in the Automotive industry
- Software design development and commissioning skills using TIA Portal, WinCC, OPC UA
- Integration with MES, Robots, Sealing Systems, Vision systems, other
- Allen Bradley Controls Experience, PLC Programming, Betafoam Dispense Systems
- Operational experience with robotics; Fanuc, other
- Process Engineering and OEE
- Project Management skills
- Understanding of relevant NFPA electrical standards
- Knowledge of BIW bonding process
- Continuous improvement - leading by example, getting things done attitude
