Construction Engineer

Location: Temple Terrace, FL (Hybrid)

12 Month Contract with Extension Possible

Job Duties

As part of the Network Engineering Implementation team, you'll be an integral part of the construction and activation of new macro sites into the Client network. This is a fast-paced, dynamic position where you'll be responsible for all aspects of constructing new sites from the stage of RFDS design all the way through activation.

MUST HAVE SKILLS (Most Important)

  • Align with real estate, RF, and A&E on the construction scope of work for each site.
  • Provide detailed requirements/scope to construct macro sites per RFDS and site conditions
  • Review and approval prelim and final CDs.
  • Initiate equipment ordering and CQ orders after final CD approval.
  • Pre-order equipment for long lead time items at least 6 months in advance
  • Review proposed tower mod designs needed to implement project and ensure best approach is being taken to balance cost, RF design, and timeline.
  • Ensure proposed design meets electrical specifications for commercial power and generator backup.
  • Confirm equipment BOM includes all material and components needed for various BTS and antenna designs.
  • Oversee construction activities of general contractors and ensure projects are progressing on-schedule
  • Proactively address any obstacles preventing construction workflow
  • Release material from Verizon warehouse to GCs 45-days prior to construction start
  • Ensure telco ready packages submitted 30-days after construction start
  • Ensure all regulatory compliance requirements met for construction
  • Coordinate telco walks with transport vendor
  • Coordinate power utility walks
  • Proactively work with Network Assurance, GCs, Transport Switch, and System Performance to drive the activation of sites after construction is complete.
  • Coordinate with Built-To-Suit companies on project schedules.
  • Maintain updated project dates in FUZE

Desired Skills

  • Providing project management for various construction activities related to network site additions, antenna modifications, and baseband upgrade projects.
  • Assist with completing project scoping to determine what materials are needed for each project, then ordering materials and ensuring that materials are delivered to GCs in alignment with the construction schedule.
  • Providing complete ownership of project financials, from initial proposal/bid through receipt of final product or service including project budget funding, adherence to budget spending, creation & tracking of purchase orders, and inspecting work performed by contractors.
  • Assist with providing guidance for site surveys and engineering to ensure cell site upgrade projects account for civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical feasibility.

Education/Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree or six or more years of work experience in wireless construction.
  • Experience with Google Suite (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Sheets, etc.)
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel functions, pivot tables, etc.

Logistics

  • Shift: Day shift 8am - 5pm. Hours may vary based upon the needs of the business.
