🧠 Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years Telemetry RN experience
• Cardiac drip experience required
• NIH Stroke scale assessment experience
• Post-cardiac cath recovery experience
• Chest tube experience required

🔄 Floating Expectations

• Float to:
  • Similar telemetry units
  • Med-Surg units
  • Boise Medical Center (Med-Surg/like units)
  • Nampa Medical Center (Med-Surg/like units)
  • ICU (if experienced)

• Unit Type: Telemetry (Tele)
• Total Beds: 27 (expanding by 10 beds in June)
• RN:Patient Ratio: 1:4

📋 Required Certifications

• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS

🫀 Common Diagnoses

• CHF
• NSTEMI / STEMI
• Stroke
• Sepsis
• Diabetes
• CAD
• Renal Failure
• Respiratory Failure
• Pneumothorax
• Post–cath lab patients (TR band / Fem-stop experience preferred)

 💉 Drips & Monitoring

• RN does NOT titrate drips
• Common drips:
  • Diltiazem (set rate)
  • Amiodarone (set rate)
• No epi or nitro on this unit
• Telemetry interpretation required (documentation every 6 hours)

📡 Monitoring System

• SpaceLabs monitors currently in use
• Transitioning to Philips
• Tele techs currently onsite (until June), then moving to centralized monitoring

👩‍⚕️ Staffing Model

• Charge RN / House Supervisor available (non-patient assignment)
• CNA/PCT ratio: 1:8–9
• Tele tech support available (temporary onsite)

🫁 Respiratory Support

• RT-managed:
  • CPAP
  • BiPAP
  • High-flow oxygen

⏰ Scheduling

• Shifts:
  • 0700–1930
  • 1900–0730
• No block scheduling
• Weekend & holiday coverage required (travelers fill gaps)
• Schedule requests considered but unit needs prioritized
• Shift trades allowed among staff

 👕 Dress Code

• Any color scrubs
• Must be clean, professional, and well-kept

🧭 Orientation

• System onboarding
• 2 orientation shifts on unit
