Outpatient Cardiology Clinic RN – Device Management
Registered Nurse with experience in ambulatory cardiology settings, delivering comprehensive patient care with a focus on cardiovascular conditions and cardiac device management. Skilled in patient assessment, triage, and care coordination, ensuring safe and effective treatment for both acute and chronic conditions.
- Provide nursing care in a fast-paced cardiology clinic, performing thorough cardiovascular assessments and prioritizing patient needs through effective triage.
- Monitor and manage patients with cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs), including pacemakers, implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs), and cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) devices.
- Conduct in-office and remote device evaluations, reviewing rhythm data, battery performance, and lead functionality; communicate findings with providers to support clinical decisions.
- Support patients before and after cardiac device procedures, including preparation, recovery monitoring, and assessment of incision sites for complications.
- Administer and monitor cardiac medications such as anticoagulants, beta-blockers, diuretics, and antiarrhythmics; provide education on medication adherence and potential side effects.
- Educate patients and caregivers on heart disease management, device usage, activity guidelines, and lifestyle modifications to promote long-term health outcomes.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Maintain compliance with clinical guidelines, safety standards, and regulatory requirements in both in-person and remote care environments.
Education:
Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program (BSN preferred)
Experience:
- 3–5 years of recent outpatient or ambulatory nursing experience preferred
- Experience with cardiac device management and acute care strongly preferred
Licensure & Certification:
- Active Registered Nurse license (State of Vermont)
- Current CPR/BLS certification
