Billing Specialist
Salinas, CA
Days 5x8, 8am - 4:30pm
26 weeks Contract (possibility of extension)
$23 per hour (Negotiable)
Tentative Start Date: 12/22/2025
Job Description
- Follow up on aging claims by contacting insurance payers and documenting all responses.
- Resolve and correct denied/rejected claims by researching missing info, obtaining records, and ensuring compliance with payer rules.
- Maintain accurate account documentation and escalate complex issues when needed.
- Collaborate with internal departments to fix claim-related problems and report payer trends to management.
- Meet productivity, quality, and compliance standards, including HIPAA and hospital policies.
Requirements
- 3 years of experience in medical office billing or hospital revenue cycle, and familiar with insurance follow-up.
- Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS codes, and standard billing concepts.
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
