Job Responsibilities:
- Provides clinical patient care (screenings, evaluations, and treatments) to a wide variety of diagnoses, disorders, and age ranges.
- Utilizes time efficiently, meeting or exceeding departmental standards.
- Prioritizes workload to assist other staff members in overload or emergency situations.
- Updates or develops state-of-the-art evaluation or treatment protocols.
- Keeps supervisor informed of departmental equipment needs.
- Documents diagnostic evaluations, treatment plans, discharge summaries, recommendations, progress reports, daily treatment records, and home programs.
- Ensures that appropriate written documentation meets TJC, Medicare, and general professional standards.
- Provides appropriate documentation to all requesting agencies and individuals, including physicians, insurance companies, and other professionals.
- Assists in the development of SLP marketing materials with the approval of the supervisor.
- Ensures professional competence and expertise in speech-language pathology.
- Attends 95% of all scheduled departmental, in-service, and team meetings.
- Assists with PI as directed by the supervisor.
- Serves as a professional role model to subordinates.
- Orients, supervises, and evaluates practicum students and graduate interns as requested by the supervisor.
- Decision Making: Carries out non-routine procedures under constantly changing conditions, in conformance with general instructions from the supervisor.
- Working Relationships: Coordinates activities of others (does not supervise).
- Leads others in the same work performed (does not supervise).
- Works directly with patients and/or customers.
- Works with internal/external customers.
- Works with other healthcare professionals and staff.
- Zero (0) - six (6) months of related experience.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from patients and families.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to use computers, basic computer knowledge, as needed for data input and reporting.
- Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid Oklahoma State License to practice Speech Language Pathology (SLP).
