What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Education Department (SPED) - Specialist - Instructional Assistant position at TALENT Software Services?

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Individual positions may be responsible for some or all of the listed duties and/or other related duties
- Assist Teacher in the implementation of instructional objectives, behavioral strategies, and IEP (Individual Education Plan) goals
- Under the guidance of the Teacher; tutor students in a variety of activities
- (academic subjects, daily life/social skills, etc) in both individual and group settings
- Monitor students in the use and care of equipment to prevent injuries
- Observe, record, and maintain student files per Federal, State, and Agency policies
- Provide assistance in lifting and caring for students which may include toileting, feeding, and hygiene
- Transport students to and from activities/appointments when necessary
- Continue professional growth through training sessions/workshops
- Policies, procedures, and programs of the immediate work unit
- Principles and practices of administration and management
- Agency or program rules, regulations, and operating procedures
- Instructional methods and learning strategies
- Behavior management techniques
- Computer programs/software and office equipment relevant to position
