Provides competent clinical nursing care in alignment with professional nursing standards. Works under the Nurse Manager/Director to coordinate and deliver patient care using the nursing process in a hospital setting.

UNC Health Wayne - Labor & Delivery Department
- 6-bed department with one C-section OR
- Responsibilities include:
- Managing laboring patients
- Circulating & assisting with C-sections
- Recovering labor and surgical patients
- Unit averages 100 deliveries per month
- Care team includes OB-GYNs and midwives
- Identify and meet personal learning needs; attend required education programs.
- Use patient education materials and assess readiness to learn.
- Identify patient outcomes and revise care plans accordingly.
- Collaborate with care team to ensure continuity and quality of care.
- Provide safe, competent care for complex patients.
- Perform point-of-care testing per policy.
- Organize and prioritize patient care effectively; seek resources for complex issues.
- Set and pursue professional development and unit goals.
- Communicate clearly and provide constructive feedback.
- Promote safety, cleanliness, and cost-effective care.
- Assess patient needs and prepare for discharge; support patient and family advocacy.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, respecting cultural differences.
- Stay updated on clinical practices and share improvement ideas.
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
Required (one of the following):
- Nursing Diploma
- ADN / ASN from an accredited nursing school
- BSN or MSN
Required:
- RN license - North Carolina
- BLS (AHA or ARC)
- ACLS (AHA or ARC)
- NRP
- NIHSS
- CPI-A (per department compliance)
Salary : $33 - $54
