Job Summary
Registered Nurses deliver care to patients utilizing the nursing process. They collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes. Nurses effectively interact with patients and their loved ones while maintaining professional nursing standards.
Observation Registered Nurses specifically provide care to adult patients who require additional monitoring (including cardiac monitoring) and diagnostic testing to determine whether the patient requires hospital admission as an inpatient or can be safely discharged.
Due to the broad range of medical conditions encountered, RNs must be knowledgeable in a wide variety of health conditions. In addition, they are professionally obligated to participate in committee activities, surveys, and quality improvement initiatives, while upholding the standards of the Texas Nurse Practice Act.

Job Requirements
Minimum Education:
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing (Diploma or Associate Degree)
- No prior work experience required
- Registered Nurse (RN) License
- CPR-BLS
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- NIH Stroke Scale
- Maintain a professional appearance at all times
- Ability to handle confidential information
- Proficiency in data entry and computer programs
- Ability to operate therapeutic equipment
- Strong knowledge of the nursing process and ability to deliver patient care based on standards of care
- Designated Driver: No
- OSHA Category: 1 – High Risk
