Position Overview
The registered nurse (RN) is accountable for the coordination of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care. The RN supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family. The RN will function within a Nursing Professional Practice Model, which includes accountability for planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of nursing care for assigned patients. The ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice provide a basis for the practice of the RN. The RN provides leadership through activities such as preceptor roles, informal leadership roles, and quality improvement efforts. The RN delegates patient care according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability, and adequacy of resources. The RN possesses excellent communication skills; is skillful in mentoring and teaching; and may participate in committees or projects.

Required Experience And Skills
- Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery ICU experience is required.
- Strong cardiac monitoring skills.
- Central/Arterial line management.
- Pacemaker management.
- Heart transplant experience preferred.
- ECMO experience is a plus, but not required.
- 13-week assignment.
- Day/Night Rotation (0700-1930 and 1900-0730), 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, every 3rd weekend.
- Option for 48 hours guaranteed can be discussed and determined at offer.
- Floating is required as needed to other areas within the Children's Center. This may include NICU and General Pediatric care areas.
- 6 months of previous travel required, 1 year strongly preferred.
- Two years of Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery ICU experience required.
- ECG exam during orientation.
Salary : $80 - $82
