Application Developer

Summary: The main function of a developer within our team is to work with the Product Delivery Manager of Operations to design, develop, and implement applications, automations, and enforceable controls using general languages and technologies such as C#, KQL, and PowerShell. This ensures our business meets the highest standards of security, privacy, and reliability compliance. Performance will be assessed based on meeting deadlines, work tracking via Azure DevOps, and project milestones. The ideal candidate has SRE experience, particularly in development work, and has transitioned to a managerial role but prefers being an individual contributor. This background provides an understanding of team dynamics and program management while retaining strong developer skills. Experience with on-call duties, operational and security mindset, and handling sensitive data is a plus. The team focuses on incident management, reporting, and automation work with an emphasis on security. This role involves contributing as a developer with an operational focus, including security incident response and site reliability. The typical task breakdown includes 30% meetings with customers and other teams, and 70% focused work time.

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

• Analyze complex business requirements and generate technical specifications to design or redesign software components and applications.
• Act as an expert technical resource for modeling, simulation, and analysis efforts.
• Leverage industry best practices to design, test, implement, and support solutions.
• Ensure quality, security, and compliance requirements are met.
• Collaborate across multiple teams to ensure quality, security, and accessibility standards are maintained at the highest level.
• Be adaptable and thrive in an evolving environment.
• Quickly adjust to change and adapt work accordingly in a positive manner.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science or computer engineering, or 10 years of equivalent real-world experience.
• 10 years of experience required.
• 5 years of experience with highly complex projects involving data-driven analysis.
• Development experience in C#, PowerShell, KQL.
• Hands-on experience using Azure DevOps.
• Experience in designing, developing, and successfully deploying large-scale projects from end-to-end.
• Minimum 10 years of experience with PowerShell.
• Minimum 10 years of experience with C#.
• Minimum 10 years of experience with data handling, including SQL or other open-source databases.
• Experience following the iterative and agile SDLC.
• 10 years of overall experience in the field.
• A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience is preferred.
