Job Summary:
The Respiratory Care Practitioner provides respiratory therapy services to patients with a wide range of respiratory and cardiopulmonary conditions. This role collaborates with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to assess patient needs, administer treatments, and support high-quality patient care. The practitioner is responsible for operating respiratory care equipment and ensuring safe, effective therapy delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer respiratory therapy treatments and interventions in accordance with physician orders and clinical protocols
- Assess and monitor patient respiratory status and response to treatment
- Operate and maintain ventilators, monitoring systems, and respiratory therapy equipment
- Perform diagnostic procedures, oxygen therapy, and patient assessments
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
- Educate patients and families on respiratory care treatments and equipment use
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
- Ensure compliance with safety, infection prevention, and regulatory standards
Required Qualifications:
- Education sufficient to meet certification, licensure, or registration requirements
- Washington Respiratory Care Practitioner License upon hire
- National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire
