What You'll Do
- Direct technical operations for Molecular Pathology and Cytogenetics laboratories.
- Ensure quality, accuracy, and regulatory compliance of all testing activities.
- Develop and implement laboratory policies, procedures, and technical standards.
- Oversee quality assurance, proficiency testing, and laboratory performance improvement initiatives.
- Lead laboratory staff development, training, mentoring, and performance management.
- Collaborate with physicians, genetic counselors, researchers, and laboratory leadership.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies, methodologies, and testing platforms.
- Support budget planning, productivity management, and operational efficiency.
- Maintain compliance with CLIA, CAP, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Participate in academic teaching and educational activities involving trainees and students.
What You Need
- PhD in Genetics, Molecular Biology, Cancer Biology, Life Sciences, or related field.
- Board Certification or Active Candidacy through the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ABMGG).
- Experience in a clinical laboratory environment.
- Leadership or management experience within Molecular Pathology, Cytogenetics, or Laboratory Genetics.
- Experience with molecular and cytogenetic methodologies including:
- Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS)
- RT-PCR
- Sanger Sequencing
- Microarray
- FISH
- Karyotyping
- Strong knowledge of CLIA and CAP regulations.
- Excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills.
