What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Director - Physician position at Talent Questor?
Imagine this…
You step into a vibrant, community-focused clinic in Oregon, joining the leadership team as the Medical Director. You’ll split your time between providing full-scope family medicine care and driving clinical excellence across all services—from perinatal to lab and radiology. You’ll partner with clinical and quality teams to build protocols, coach providers, and lead the practice’s growth.
Half your week is spent in the exam rooms—building relationships, diagnosing, treating, and caring for patients in a team-based environment. The other half is devoted to administrative leadership: monitoring quality, refining workflows, ensuring compliance, scheduling, mentoring, and helping set the future direction of the clinic.
Your Role Includes:
- Delivering direct patient care (preventive, acute, chronic)
- Overseeing, mentoring, and coaching medical staff and mid-level providers
- Developing clinical protocols, quality improvement measures, and compliance systems
- Engaging with leadership to strategize and represent clinical operations
- Participating in recruitment, credentialing, performance management
- Ensuring alignment with regulatory, licensing, and funding requirements
What You Bring:
- MD or DO degree, board-certified or board-eligible in family or internal medicine
- Oregon medical license (or ability to obtain), DEA, ACLS/PALS
- Experience in primary care, ideally in underserved or community health settings
- Strong leadership, communication, and clinical decision-making skills
- Comfort balancing patient care with administrative leadership responsibilities
Why This Role Works:
- Blend of clinical and leadership work — not fully administrative or purely clinical
- Opportunity to make system-level impact while still maintaining patient contact
- Supportive team culture, resources for mentorship and professional development
- Real chance to shape the future of care delivery in community health
