Director

We are seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Risk to lead and oversee the hospital’s risk management and compliance programs. This high-impact leadership role is essential in safeguarding patients, supporting providers, and ensuring regulatory excellence across the organization and affiliated clinics.

As both the Risk Management Leader and Compliance & Ethics Officer, you will play a critical role in identifying, mitigating, and preventing risk while fostering a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.

• Direct and manage the organization’s comprehensive risk management program.

• Identify, assess, and mitigate clinical, operational, and regulatory risks.

• Partner with leadership, providers, and staff to proactively address risk exposure.

Litigation & Investigation Oversight

• Manage active and potential litigation, including investigations, interviews, and depositions.

• Coordinate legal hold processes and documentation in collaboration with legal counsel.

• Ensure timely and thorough response to claims and incidents.

Compliance & Ethics

• Serve as the facility’s Compliance and Ethics Officer, ensuring adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.

• Lead compliance initiatives and promote ethical standards across the organization.

Training & Culture Development

• Educate leaders, providers, and staff on risk management practices and incident reporting.

• Build a culture of safety, transparency, and continuous improvement.

• Develop and deliver training programs that strengthen organizational awareness and accountability.

Collaboration & Relationship Building

• Work cross-functionally with clinical, administrative, and executive teams.

• Facilitate strong relationships with providers and key stakeholders.

• Act as a trusted advisor on risk and compliance matters.

• Active (or eligible) New Mexico RN license

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)

• 5 years of healthcare experience, including 3 years in a leadership role

• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree (MSN, MBA, or Healthcare Administration)

• Experience in acute care risk management

• Background working in a for-profit hospital setting

• Experience in ethics and compliance programs

• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with providers and multidisciplinary teams
